Adventures from Long Ago

I was visiting my folks house this morning, my mom had this picture of Jenn and I up in the hallway. I just couldn't resist taking a picture of it. I believe this was taken on a Liberty Lake camping trip. I'm loving my awesome velcro shoes! Here's to many more adventures!

It's Finished!

I'm sure by now everyone is sick of posts about my "frame wall". Well this will probably be the last you will hear of it for awhile, because I'm done! Yay! Project finished and crossed off the list, and tons of stuff on the wall and out of the project/storage closet :) Anyways, the proof is in the pudding as they say, so here's some pictures. The wall is actually a light green color, doesn't look quite right, but this is about as close as it gets on camera.

If you're curious, the gecko is from our honeymoon in Hawaii, the K is for our last name, the 2 postcards are of Spokane and Seattle (dated 1908 & 1909). The next two are from magazines, for our love of nature, the outdoors and exploring the great northwest! My lovely cat Malcolm as a kitten, our anniversary and last a picture from our recent trip to the Oregon coast!

My gigantic "frame" of fridge pics moved across the hall.

Very last addition, quick little project I whipped up to fill an empty space. It fills it perfectly! Plus that hoop has been needing to be used and off my desk!

Absurd Amount of Craft Organization Pictures

I finished organizing my half of the "studio" last week but never got around to posting pictures. There's a bunch of them, since I needed proof that everything was not just shoved into drawers. I went through and purged an entire bags worth of stuff, including the organizer I posted about earlier - it just wasn't working for me.  Here goes:

~ My area - you can see the top of my desk!! And my new lamp from Urban Outfitters, now I can see what I'm working on!

~ Stamps and mini stacks in bottom drawer. The top drawer holds cardstock and middle holds 12x12 stacks.

~ Cleared the clutter off the side of the filing cabinet! Filing basket is up top.

~ Two jelly jars I picked up at a thrift store, top one holds all my grommets, bottom all my brads.

~ Faux book from my sister that holds all the misc pieces to smash or scrapbook. It goes in the front of my cubby next to two notebooks and my repurposed Crisco jar that holds large ribbon, and reused TJ's caramel container holding non-fun supplies (you can see it in the top picture).

~ Ceramic egg holder used for lens cap, USB stick, other small things. Behind it is a bamboo organizer tray from Costco (came in a set), use that for my distress inks, frequently used wooden alpha stamps, stickles, and tools (measuring tape, plastic tailor tape, matches, regular tape)

~ Broke my favorite tea cup from my grandmother, so now it holds all my buttons.

~ Added a new bike (packaging from a Farm Chicks vender) and made the little tape banner for fun!

~ New fav, purple canning jar from thrift store, holds my mini clothespins.

~ Stickers and mini letter stickers in drawer. Thickers in open cubby on the right, easier just to have the drawer out. In the top pic you can see the extra drawer sits to the left and holds all my scrap paper and extra cardboard including 12x12 plastic envelopes for large pieces sorted loosely by color.

~ Drawer full of punches

~ Basket holding yarn, twine. Orange box holds cards that are done and ready to go. Sits up high where the cat won't notice it!

~ Small box holds pictures for current projects, helps to not be constantly searching through all my photos when working on trips, also convenient for traveling.

~ Inside the Bits and Pieces box, has a clear top which is handy.

~ The back of the cubby, various glues in tupperware, Also use the container to clip clothespins onto when they are being painted. Salt container is for a eventual project. Various large ugly items get hidden back there :)

And that's all... whew! Finished my frame wall today, so pictures of that up next!

Befores & Afters (and some in between)

I've been making some progress on the frame wall! Yay! Have been doing alot of frame painting. Here's some befores...

Here are some "Afters" and "In Progress" shots. Still need to fill some of the frames.

This was being poorly used, so got moved to the frame wall and has the equivalent of "fridge pics" on it. Joe doesn't like the fridge all covered with stuff.

The old lady got replaced by a picture of Mal as a kitten.

Have had this "K" hanging around for awhile, was plain white. It's actually a dark teal color.

Painted frames that need to be filled. They are painted "Bleached Sand" and it actually looks pretty nice against the greenish wall in the hallway.

Having fun with my fabric pen! Any guesses which baby this is for? :)

Another before frame. This one got a new life in my room though.

And I finally figured out what to do with my old key from the Farm Chicks show!

And last, because I'm training for the Krazy Kat Lady description later in life, here is a picture of "our cats". Jackson is a neighborhood kitty that eats at our house frequently, he seems to be doing better these days. He's gaining weight and his fur is looking better. ...and of course Mal you already know. :)

Embellishment Storage Box

*** UPDATE - No longer available. ***

This is a Making Memories storage piece I've had for awhile but am no longer using. The goal is to clear out and declutter so I am offering it to one of my regular readers for free before I donate it to charity. It is paper covered chipboard. The inside is a green plastic with a soft/fuzzy covering.

In a Nutshell

I was dropping off 3 bags at the thrift store when I found this little frame. The lady at the desk let me have it for a dollar! Woot! I love the little flowery scroll detail at the top. Joe thinks the lady is creepy, so she has to go. I personally don't think so, but I have other plans for the frame anyhow. If anybody wants the old photo, let me know.
Otherwise, just having an average evening at home. Had chicken, rice and pot stickers for dinner. Played with the cat, went to the gym (that is actually unusual). Now having a cup of tea and muddling through the mess at my desk, while making a bigger mess by taking the frame apart. It drives Joe nuts that I usually have a half dozen or so projects going at once. Anyone else have that issue? The cat is taking a nap and Joe is playing video games. Our evening in a nutshell.

Mal has his own dedicated chair in the "studio", its the now not completely yellow bentwood chair that needs the cushion bettered secured (another project) :)

Vintage Retro Awesome... enough said

Without further adieu, I present to you the totally awesome DogClock. This is a vintage masterpiece found by myself and Joe on one of our recent journeys. Now adorning our mantle!
Happy Wednesday everyone!
